![]() ![]() When I got DVD-AE to show the 2 channel program and ripped it, it's clearly the original stereo mix. Ripping the 6 channel program and downmixing to stereo reveals that DVD-AE is, in fact, grabbing the multichannel mix and downmixing it since the vocal is missing. Anyone who has heard this multichannel mix will notice that part of Mick Jagger's backing vocal is missing towards the end of the track. Any ideas?īy the way, my best test for this was ripping You're So Vain from Carly Simon's No Secrets. I'm really puzzled as to why this would be but, more importantly, how to get DVD-AE to just show the 2 channel program all the time. you need to click on the downloaded file in order to install DVD Audio Extractor 7.3.0 in your Windows device. Lo and behold, I've found that to be true though sometimes I actually have to eject the disc and reload it in order to get DVD-AE to display the 2 channel program. I then read someone's post (I think on another forum) that they noticed that DVD-AE will sometimes show both titles as being the 6 channel program, but that if you click and unclick back and forth that you can typically get it to show the 2 channel program. I verified by ripping both titles and converting to FLAC that, in fact, DVD-AE was downmixing the 6 channel program. However, this was happening with such a large percentage of my discs that I knew that wasn't the right answer. I initially assumed (after researching this online) that maybe these discs didn't have dedicated stereo programs and instead just downmixed the multichannel program when people selected stereo for playback. Sometimes it will show both an MLP 6 channel title and an MLP 2 channel title, but other times it will show two titles that are both 6 channel. Put in disc that has both multichannel and stereo tracks. I then realized I could just rip the discs using DVD Audio Extractor, but I noticed this odd behavior: New to this, I tried using MakeMKV just like I did with the blu-ray audio discs but none of the dvd-audio discs would rip properly. After doing that and reading some comments here, I decided to try to rip the audio from some of my dvd-audio discs. I recently decided to rip the audio from some blu-ray audio discs I have. I know this has been discussed here before (I searched for previous threads), but I'm not sure that I've seen a definitive resolution. ![]()
